What are the different equipment and materials used in wineries?

Wine is being produced by humans for many years. But in the last few decades, the techniques of making wine and the materials being used vary widely from the old traditional days.

Metals used in the making of wine tanks

Nowadays wineries use stainless steel wine tanks for brewing and storing wine. Stainless steel is the only metal used because of its desired properties.

The wine tanks are made from stainless steel because they are highly resistant to corrosion, scale formation, and storing wine is safe because wine does not react with stainless steel at all. Apart from this, no contaminants grow in the brewery tanks made from steel.

Process applied

In today's world of the brewing industry, voltammeter and spectroscopy are used to find out the presence of antioxidant bacteria and microorganisms in the wine. Other techniques that are used include oxidation-reduction potential and ASTM techniques for maintaining the right temperature inside the brewery tanks.

Vessels used

The brewing process in the wineries makes use of stainless steel tanks that have highly polished and reflective surfaces. The maintenance of these large tanks is done using the electrochemical treatment for repairing the damaged portions of the tanks.
